January Playlist | New Podcast

While I have been studying, procrastinating, and sleeping, I HAVE still been listening to music. I believe that this is one of my best-put-together playlist in quite some time. Why? Purely because I have been so excited to share this with all of you and I have had most of these songs on repeat.

Liza Anne has been a major gem for me this month, hence the reason why I have included three of her songs. The Academic came out with their brilliant EP towards the end of last year and I am excited to be featuring it as the Album of the Month very soon.

Declan O'Rourke recently came out with his new album, and I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live (for the third time) in Swinford. It's a solid piece of work that includes quite an eclectic mix of his various styles.

If you listen right to the end, you might notice that there is an outlier; Stay by Dead Battery. It is as true as the rain came pelting down on my window this evening, that I categorically do not listen to remixes or any electronic music or any "hip" stuff. I mean my granny-ish-like description of it is absolutely deplorable! But I recently rediscovered a very talented filmmaker that I watched for ages when I was younger, Saol Eoin. Why did I have to rediscover this talent? Youtube is a disappointment at times when it comes to their subscription box, and possibly my memory at times. So I caught up on all of this aesthetically pleasing digital viewing and I started watching his friend's channel, Adam from ThisGuyCalledAdam. His first video that I stumbled upon, Revival - featured this track in the background and I have had it on repeat ever since! If you want to do anything worthwhile over the weekend I would strongly recommend you to check out their channels, and you too, will be in awe of what lies before you.

This evening I posted my very first podcast, which basically sums up the last few weeks, where I'm currently at and my plans for the next few months. I would really appreciate if you could give it a listen and let me know what you think! It's only my first one so I'm still learning. But it's honestly something I've wanted to do for the longest time, considering journalism is what I am pursuing and possibly radio being a part of that.

Below you will find widgets to the playlist and podcast.
